Interviewer: "We spoke to audio expert Alan Feierstein of Acoustilog. He showed us his spectrum analyzer. These are the high volume bass sounds that are annoying to neighbors. But the City machines don’t measure these bass sounds, so it comes in much lower."
"Some people who are complaining actually have a legitimate complaint, but even after the City comes out they’re not getting any satisfaction"

Alan Fierstein :"That’s true. Often the inspectors apologize to the tenants saying 'I’m sorry, our meters don’t measure bass. You’ll have to hire a private consultant' "
